Peter has always had a camera around his neck, from when he was six until his first lesson back in 1965. Since then he has attended six schools to master his craft. Through the years Peter has had many solo shows. Back in 1983 at Gates Restaurant in New Canaan, CT. he displayed more than 40 photographs. He then had a show at the Eaglehill school in Greenwich, CT. with more than 50 pictures displayed. Since moving to New Hampshire in 1994, he has displayed his photography in several locations throughout the state.
Moving to New London his work was on display for a year at the Main Street Book Ends bookstore in Warner, NH. In Sunapee Harbor, NH. he has photography on display at the Anchorage Restaurant and the Harbor Gallery. Peter produced a catalog of his work, which included 30 of his best black and white Infrared photographs. His photographs sold at an auction in Portsmouth, NH. put on by the YMCA.
and 33. New London Gallery also sells Peter's photography.
He specializes in black and white Infrared film. Infrared changes anything that is red or green to white and anything white glows. Infrared only appears with sunlight sometimes appearing as a winter scene.
Peter travels around America to capture that perfect light. He uses Nikon equipment and the lenses he uses are no larger than a 135 mm telephoto. His latest series are taken with a 16 mm fisheye holding the camera 2 inches off the ground, not looking thru the lens. He has another series which transform pictures that were taken as close as a foot into aerial photographs, at least they appear that way.
To advance in the art of photography Peter studied painting, drawing, art history, photography, photogrammetry and the Zone System. He studied art and composition working with an artist in Connecticut.
